Every beer deserves a glass.

Let me give you a couple of technical reasons to use the special designed glass for each beer. The bottle of every beer fits in the appropriate glass. For example, pouring a St.Hermes into a regular pint glass would result in only a half full glass. No customer will appreciate that. The special glass is designed to accentuate the taste and the aroma of the beer. It offers the ability to swirl the beer lightly in the glass. You can hold the glass with your two hands to warm the beer if you want to, and when the beer evolves from cold to warm, the beer gives more of its aroma and taste. That's why our Piraat is served in a glass with the shape of a cognac-snifter.

There is a historical reason to drink your beer out of its own special designed glass. The glasses exist for centuries and were created together with the beer. The shape of the glasses for the abbey ales for example, is the shape of the chalice used by the monks for centuries.

And of course we have several Marketing reasons for drinking out of a special glass. A classy beer should be presented in a classy glass. When people pay more for something, they deserve something special. Most spirits, cocktails and even wines are poured in a special glass with a special shape. In a bar or restaurant you can easily ask 50 cents more for the beer, when you present the beer in its special glass.
