That’s what a study by Austrian and Czech researchers, published in the International
Immuno-pharmacology newsletter, proves.
The reasons are (1) the anti-inflammatory benefits produced by the hops,
and (2) the normalizing effect on the tryptophan balance,
which improves the availability of the ‘happiness hormone’ serotonin.
We didn’t need a big study to know that drinking beer makes people happy,
but it’s always nice to have it confirmed by a scientist.
I drink a Poperings Hommel Ale to that today. Plenty of hops in that beer!
