AMA discovers why Europeans fall behind

Drinking alcohol kills brain cells and makes you dumb, claims the AMA (American Medical Association), in an effort to stop underage drinking. The AMA must believe that the Europeans are now too dumb to understand Americans, all because they drank beer and wine when they were teenagers.

The AMA forgets to mention a few things. For example that the engaging in sports of any kind, including soccer, football, basketball … even dancing, also causes the demise of many brain cell every time we hit our head against something, or swing our head too abruptly. Fortunately we have plenty of these brain cells to start with, we only use a very small portion of them, and the brain cells are able to renew themselves.

Cells all over our body die and are replaced constantly. Doctors and scientists without a political agenda, believe that only EXCESSIVE alcohol consumption over a very long period damages somebody’s intellectual capacities.

Sir Winston Churchill, one of the most adored political leaders of the last century, at least in the USA, was known to have alcohol in his blood most of the day and the night for almost his entire life. And he was not alone! But Adolf Hitler, the most hated political leader in the USA, was a total abstainer from alcohol. We know that most political leaders over the thousands of years of history, including our Founding Fathers, enjoyed wine and beer every day from a very young age. Seeing what they were able to write, accomplish, think and do even at a very old age, makes you wonder just how many brain cells they must have had.

How was our civilization able to emerge and be successful in view of the fact that over thousands of years the daily beverage of all, from young to old, was beer or wine, since water was not drinkable. Students in Europe drink beer and wine almost daily, and accomplish innovative thinking in every field. Contrary to America, the European teaching methods rely far more on good memory. The AMA’s position on alcohol consumption is an insult to all these young European brains, wanted by many American companies.

The position of the AMA is so ridiculous that it misses its intention. No thinking person believes their official point of view. It’s better to educate teenagers how to enjoy a good beer or wine with their meals, to teach them how much is too much in a protective family environment before they are offered their first “illegal” drink. It is time to lower the legal drinking age in the USA to 16, and to stimulate parents to moderately consume and share beer and wine with their teenagers during the family dinners. After all, moderate alcohol consumption is known to be part of a healthy life style. Why shouldn’t teenagers be allowed to join?
