President Clinton claims to save the lives of Children

In forcing the individual States to lower the alcohol-in-blood standard from 0.1% to 0.08% in the definition of "Driving under the Influence", the President claims he saves the lives of our children. (This President is certainly the politician with the highest CPM-rate of all politicians. CPM standing for the number of times he mentions child or children in a minute of speech.) The truth is that the number of deadly accidents, caused by people with an alcohol-in-blood level between 0.08 and 0.1, is probably null. The facts prove that deadly accidents, where drivers were drunk, are caused by drunks with an alcohol-in-blood level that is far higher than 0.1, closer to the 0.2 and even higher.

Accidents with Princesses prove that even a 0.05% ceiling can't prevent deadly accidents. The official report states that the driver in that Paris accident had an alcohol-in-blood level close to 0.2%. Which proves again the earlier stated facts.

The only things Mr. Clinton will achieve with his new regulation are bad. Large number of decent and responsible people will be afraid to enjoy a good and healthy glass of beer or wine at their lunch or dinner. The net result will be that a number of restaurants and bars will have to close their doors. That is exactly what happened in Belgium and other European countries when the alcohol-in-blood level was lowered.

An other bad result, noticed in Belgium, is that the social interactivity of the people, the number of times that people come together to talk and enjoy themselves, diminishes tremendously. It used to be, that after work, most employees, workers, bosses and other people from all kinds of walk, saw each other at the local pub, to kill the stress accumulated on the workplace and talk politics or sports for an hour before going home. Now, people bring the stress home, which provokes domestic violence, divorce and heart diseases among other bad things. Politicians don't want you to talk to other people: they want you to sit before your own TV, believing and not questioning all what they say. After all, they know best what is good for us.
