Donald Trump.

The wannabe President)

On the “Today Show” with Matt Lauer, Donald Trump said: “I don’t drink, I don’t smoke. I never had a drug in my life ... alcohol is a drug. I mean, alcohol and tobacco are both terrible drugs. And, you know, I’d like to see the lawyers start going after the alcohol companies, cause I think alcohol is a much greater detriment than cigarettes.”

On the Larry King Show: “... I do like to see them sued. ... I hope a lot of lawyers are watching tonight. Why is it that everybody is suing the tobacco companies and nobody sues the alcohol companies?”

Yes, let’s sue the praying monks in their abbeys in Europe, who are making exceptional beers and wines, and, god-forbid, brandies! It’s time for Mr. Trump to do some medical research. Hopefully for him he is the statistical exception, because non alcohol drinkers die many years earlier than moderate daily drinkers.

My father taught me never to trust a business partner that doesn’t drink. The reason is quit simple: these people don’t trust themselves. They are afraid to show their true goals, their true nature under influence. It is the real reason why all around the world important business deals can only be done after the partners have met each other at least once over lunch or dinner with alcoholic beverages, or have spent a night together at a bar. Potential business partners must learn to trust each other, and see how the partner reacts, when he or she loosens up.
